FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS …

 

WHAT ARE THE BIG CHANGES?

We have a separate ‘Do’s and Do’s document’ which is on our website and Facebook, which explains the new systems in and around the pub, but the main points are:

SANITISER – Customers are required to sanitise your hands please, on arrival, departure, and any time you see fit. There are plenty of sanitisers readily available throughout the pub.

ONE WAY SYSTEM – We have anew one-way trail throughout the pub, which will be explained on arrival. There is now a separate entrance and exit. Anything not clear, please just ask.

SOCIAL DISTANCING - Please respect social distancing while in the pub, and remain at your tables, or at least two metres from any other customers while moving through the pub.

TABLE SERVICE - Please remain relaxed at your table, and let us look after you, we will bring any food or drink to you at your table. If you would like to move, please ask a member of staff. Please leave the chairs and tables where they are, as they have been carefully placed to be within government guidelines.

ONLINE ORDERING AND CONTACTLESS PAYMENT - Please order from our app where possible, or from one of bar staff. Please use contactless card payments or order online. We are not accepting cash currently.

CLEANING SCHEDULES – We have a heightened cleaning procedure that is more comprehensive, rigid, and regular than before, ensuring our FAB pub is as safe as possible.

 

WHY WERE YOU SHUT FOR SO LONG?

There were several factors but the main reasons being the health and well being of our staff and customers, as well as the sustainability and financial stability of the business while remaining safe. We are very happy to discuss with you any of the rhymes and reasons why, and always willing to explain the thinking behind them.

 

ARE YOU DOING THE NHS TRACK AND TRACE?

We are indeed. We are required to collect customers names and contact telephone numbers on arrival for NHS Track and Trace purposes.

The information will beheld for 21 days after which will be destroyed unless during that period we are required to forward to the NHS for track and trace purposes only.

 

WHY ARE YOU BEING SUCH A STICKLER FOR THE RULES?

The truth of the matter is, that A. the guidelines are there for a reason and we need to be following them, and importantly, B. If we are seen to not be following the rules, it could cost us our license, and then that means that there will be no pub for you to enjoy, and also won’t be able to give our valued staff any shifts, so we are trying to look after everyone in these crazy times.

 

HAVE YOUR OPENING HOURS CHANGED?

They have.  We are now open Tuesday – Thursday from 12noon– 10pm, Friday and Saturday from 12noon – 11pm and Sunday 10am – 8pm. (We are closed on Mondays.)

 

ARE YOU STILL DOING FOOD?

We are still serving our FAB food. Now ALL DAY. The kitchen is open Tuesday – Thursday from 12noon – 8pm,Friday and Saturday from 12noon – 9pm and Sunday we are serving our infamous brunch between 10am – 2pm and then the main menu is served from 2pm – 6pm. (We are closed Mondays)

 

DO YOU STILL DO BRUNCH AT WEEKENDS?

We are indeed but only on Sundays at the moment. Served between 10am – 2pm and then the main menu is served from 2pm – 6pm. (We are closed Mondays)

 

DO YOU HAVE AN APP TO ORDER FROM?

We do, it has all our food, drinks and any promotions we are running, automatically on there.

There is a QR code you scan, which can be found on all the tables, which will give you the link to take you straight there or otherwise, can be found by heading to: menu.forestersarmsbedford.co.uk through your web browser

 

WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE ASMARTPHONE?

If you do not have a smartphone, or aren’t able to order online, we can do table service, and take your order manually, but we are only accepting contactless payment.

 

ARE YOU DOING TABLE SERVICE?

We are, in line with Government guidelines, we are operating a Table Service ONLY service, where orders are placed via our online ordering system, and the food and drinks will be bought to you.  We are not able to take any orders at the bar itself currently.

 

CAN I ORDER AT THE BAR?

Afraid this is a no go at the moment. While we really do miss your friendly faces up at the bar all ordering must be done via our online ordering system or orders can be taken by one of team members at your table if absolutely necessary. But we are unable to accept any cash currently.

 

ARE YOU ACCEPTING CASH?

We are not accepting cash for the time being, and only accepting online orders or contactless payment.

 

CAN OR SHALL I BRING MY GLASSES BACK TO THE BAR?

We really appreciate the helpfulness of our FAB customers, but at the moment, please leave the glasses on the table, as you cant come to the bar, and helps us keep track of what tables need sanitising when you leave. We will take any empty glasses away with us when delivering afresh round.

CAN I MOVE TABLES, MINGLE OR BE STANDING?

Sorry to be the fun sponge, but there cannot be any standing, or mingling in groups that is not your own.

If you need any tables moving, then please speak to a member of staff, as they have all be carefully measured and laid out to government guidelines.

If you are sat at a table and would like to move to another, then please speak to a member of staff, as they can help you with this, as all tables have to be sanitised and cleaned,

 

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN COME AT ONE TIME?

In line with government guidelines and due to the cosy size of our pub we are allowed:

INSIDE: Maximum of 6 people to a table from up to 2 households.

OUTSIDE: Maximum of 6people to a table from up to 6 households.

 

CAN I BOOK?

We have several tables that can be booked but are also keeping certain tables free for ‘walk-ins’.

At the moment our booking process is via phone. Please call 01234 630959 to reserve a table. (If a booking is more than 20 minutes a late then the table may have been given away, so please do call and let us know if you are running late).

 

ARE YOU TAKING GROUP BOOKINGS OR PARTIES?

We are not able to take group bookings or parties at the moment.

 

WILL THERE BE ANY LIVE MUSIC OR SPORT?

We won’t be having any live music, or sport, which is a real shame we know, but we can’t be ‘attracting crowds’ at the moment. We may be able to have some music outside, but weather permitting due to the time of year this is tricky.

We can’t wait to get back and have our usual acts back in and support the local talent of Bedford.  This will be the first thing we change once we are allowed.

 

ARE YOUR CLUBS RETURNING?

We hope to be able to have some or clubs and craft workshops back but are still working on this. Watch out for more information on this.

 

IS THE QUIZ STILL HAPPENING?

We are planning to bring the quiz back in due course, so watch this space and we will give more information as soon as we have it.

 

WILL THERE BE ANY STREET FOOD VANS RETURNING?

Not at the moment, due to the time of year and the nature of having people moving around the garden, again once we are able to work this out, in our small pub, we will update any information, but at the moment, you can enjoy our delicious home made fresh food from our FAB kitchen.

 

ARE WE ABLE TO BRING CHILDREN AND DOGS STILL?

By all means kids and dogs are very much welcome, but will have to remain seated at the tables, and kept on their lead, we’ll let you decide which way round this is meant! Haha.

 

DO YOU STILL HAVE BOARD GAMES OR TOYS FOR THE LITTLE ONES?

Afraid not, as these are very hard to keep sanitised for all to enjoy. You are very welcome to bring any of your own games and activities for you to enjoy while here.
